Mile High Yoga

Experience a sanctuary for your mind, body, and spirit. Mile High Yoga caters to all ability levels and provides a secure, peaceful, and amiable experience at 5,506 feet in elevation.

Classes are every Saturday and Sunday, June 1 through September 1. Tickets are $28 and are available online starting May 1. Classes begin at 10 a.m., and participants must be on the chairlift by 9:45 a.m. sharp.

Starting June 1 through September 1, indulge in the enhanced experience of our newly constructed private deck, offering the same breathtaking views and a more intimate class size. Please bring your own mat to enhance your comfort during practice.

Meet the Instructors

Chelsea Dittrich

Chelsea has been practicing yoga since 2009. She is certified and registered as a 200 E-RYT & 500 RYT with 6 years of combined teaching experience in Florida, Peru and Western North Carolina. Trained in Vinyasa and Hatha styles with a self developed affinity for the depth of Yin, she loves combining styles both in personal practice and shared instruction for a balance of fluidity and creative self expression.

Scott Temples

Scott Temples E500 RYT After having been involved in a lifetime of fitness, playing competitive tennis in college and competing in triathlons for 18 years, Scott began practicing yoga seeking more balance in his life both physically and energetically. Scott completed his 200 hr RYT Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training in St. Petersburg, FL and 300 hr RYT Vinyasa and Yin Yoga Teacher Training with Tymi Howard Manifest Yoga while traveling around the world assisting at teacher trainings, workshops and yoga festivals. In addition, he has completed numerous other trainings and certifications. Scott teaches both Vinyasa Flow, Yin, Nidra and Myofascial Release ensuring that the student experience is fun and accessible, regardless of age or fitness level. His classes are fun, energetic and said to be gently challenging. For the past several years, Scott has spent his winters in St. Petersburg, FL and summers in Beech Mountain, NC. This year Scott made Beech Mountain his full time residence. He enjoys spending time outdoors paddling, biking, running, hiking and skiing as well as traveling and spending time with his family, friends and his dog Colby. Scott attended Appalachian State University and Florida State University.

Cara Van Der Bauwede

Cara is an international Yoga Teacher with over 14 years experience. Her unique classes infuse powerful postures, mindfulness, and relaxation techniques that work together with the energy of the moment to create an empowering mind-body-spirit experience. Last year she published her first book and will soon release her second. She a native of the Appalachian mountains, currently living in France with her family.
